Question about 2007 Ford GT

1 Answer

After changing fuel filter on my diesel 2008 Mondeo it would not start. Fuel filter is in the back of wagon. How do you start it? The fuel filter could not be filled with diesel prior to fitting. The system needed to be bled however there is no lift pump or electric pump in fuel tank to push fuel through.

No, the injection pump is the fuel mover. There should be a means to manualy prime the system. Look for a hand pump with a knob . Unscrew the nob and pump it up until iy pressurizes. The lock the pump dow and hit the key. Good Luck

Help my 1753 diesel MK4 Mondeo refuses to start have changed fuel filter still will not start

You just don't have fuel to the injectors yet. I use this to keep from running my battery's down and to quick start. Use a small air compressor to pressurize the fuel tank with any vent lines plugged. This will push fuel all the way thru and you can crank it up quick. Mine's and old '75 Chevy pickup with 6.2 diesel and I had a lot of tank changeover problems so I had to devise this to make it work right. I open the fuel water separator and let the pressure push the fuel finally into an empty bottle, shut the compressor off and close the water drain at the separator, crank it and it fires right up.

How to bleed the fuel system in the 2009 Mondeo after changing the fuel filter on a diesel

You don't. You just crank the engine until it starts. Modern vehicles work on a pressurised system with a return back to the tank. The fuel is pumped from the tank to the injectors and excess fuel is returned to the tank.

Mondeo Mk3 TDCI suspected fuel contamination

indicates that the fuel was petrol and not diesel
best id to drain the tank , change the fuel filters and refill with the correct fuel
could be contaminated tank at the station but as most have a petrol and diesel hoses side by side it is easy to fill from the wrong hose

I have vw type 25 diesel 1600 cc .it takes ages to start the fuel seems to **** back into the tank so ive got to keep trying to start the engine till the fuel gets ther

I would try changing your fuel filter. Inspect the fuel lines for leaks. Air getting in the line would cause fuel to flow back into the tank.
I really suspect that the long cranking time may be a problem not with the fuel system but with the glow plugs, You probably need to replace the plugs as they are not pre-heating the combustion chamber properly to allow ignition of the diesel fuel. To start a diesel motor with out glow plugs you have to crank the motor until enough heat is generated to ignite the fuel. Glow plugs are not very expensive and fairly easy to change your self.

I have an F-350 Super Duty Diesel V8 2008 and we ran out of fuel. When we put diesel in it throws out black smoke. How do you check the Fuel pressure? It won't start and we just changed the fuel filters....

Make sure you fill the filters with fuel before you install them. then bleed the line at the fuel filter then move
on to the injectors
loosen the injector line to bleed it one at a time then crank it till no air is coming out tighten that line then do
the next one. . Dont use starting fluid to start it if you use any spray use wd40 for priming I havent worked on the new ones but the 7.3s will start that way
