Question about 1996 Oldsmobile 88
Taking off the rocker cover over number1 cylinder, rotate the harmonic balancer to top dead centre, both inlet and exhaust rockers should be level and under no pressure, if one is tight then it is possible the chain has jumped a link. Check your ignition timing, at top dead centre the distributer should be just about to open up to fire on number one lead, Lastly, buy some octane booster and injector/carby cleaner $8, this may be a cheap fix. hope this helps, good luck
