How do you remove the changer

  • nulfster Nov 22, 2009

I can not seem to locate a lever or button to release the magazine from the metal structure that holds it. Any further ideas.

it does look like the magazine is in correctly, the numbers are shown on the front of the magazine.

There will be a push button to release the cd cassette on the front to one the side of the changer. Push the button and your cd cassette will pop out, unless it is missing. Inside the cassette will be 6 individual trays for your cds. Once you know the release button position you will be able to remove then cassette in the dark as I often do at night whenwe want the cds for the patio

Usually the cover has a sliding part on the front, and that exposes the cartridge that holds the cd's. A button or lever ejects the cartridge and then individual plastic cd holders swing out or slide out. Put a cd in each one and re-insert them in the cartridge, some cartridges just have slots btw, and then re-insert the cartridge the right way up and push home firmly until it clicks in, and close the cover.

Hello. I have a 470 with a similar changer. i can assist you. Begin by locating the fuse for the audio and inspecting it. Chances are it is blown and needs to be changed. Be sure to replace it with another of the same amperage. Hopefully, that will help you along. Now remove the 5 disk cartridge from the changer and load it up with 5 discs. Reinsert it and you will now be ready to enjoy some music.
If you are still not having success, go to any Lexus dealership and ask one of the sales people, or someone from the service desk to show you how to get it up and running. Regards, Joe

How to change air cond. filter lexus gs300 2000, has 6 disc cd changer where everyone says filter is.

It should be behind the glove box which you have to remove to get access to the filter door.
Is the CD changer directly behind the glove box ? Because in my car the changer is above the main part of the box, not behind it.

Re-setting of cd changer

A couple of different possibilities here but this is a typical problem when it comes to the MB cd changers. Before ruling the cd changer bad, check the spring settings on the sides of the changer. Make sure they are in the 'H' position since it sits in the glovebox. The Mercedes cd changers don't have a reset button. 95% of the time its the cd changer that is bad when this scenario happens. Its caused by a linkage that gets knocked out of place internally of the cd changer. Also try not to use burned or homemade cd's as they can also cause the cd changer not to read the discs anymore. If your cd changer is brand new or a factory rebuild then the dealer should change it out no problem since MB cd changers are known for this problem. Also the version coding needs to done to configure the D2B fiber optic ring properly.

Have you checked the fuses. Usually under the dash or in the glove box.

Cd changer

I'm not quite sure, but my expy has a cd changer in it.  The changer itself lives in the arm rest storage area (not in the back or the glove box). first step would be to see if your radio would support a changer, then I suspect you'd have to wire it up.
