My battery went dead on my 2001 galant. I

My battery went dead on my 2001 galant. I replaced the battery, and my radio needed a code. I entered the code and radio worked fine, but every time I turn my car off I have to enter my radio code and my keyless entry no longer works. Could a fuse be blown?

The stereo may have connection with your anti theft device, drive your car to the dealer and they can reset the device for you at a minimal charge. this should resolve these issues. Good luck

Contact the dealership and talk with the service department, explain the situation, they should be able to get you fixed up, also have your VIN handy.

Mitsubishi galant 2000 radio code

Hi,

Thanks for writing to Fixya.com.

Check the owner’s manual to see if the radio code card is in the book between the pages. It's the size of a charge card and red in color. The code may also have been written in the inside cover of the manual. If no code card you will need the numbers off of the tag on the top of the radio which means taking things apart. Once you have the serial numbers you will need to find a friendly service writer at a Mits dealer who will look the code number up on the factory dealer web site. He will then have to instruct you how to enter the code into the radio. Don't let the car battery go dead or take the battery cables off for more than a few minutes when replacing the battery or you will need the code again.

NEED FACTORY CODE FOR RADIO. THE BATTERY WENT DEAD.

Only place you can get that is from a dealer. They usually won't charge you for the code.

I read on another site that if you get locked out, your radio will show OFF. All you need to do is keep your radio on for an hour. It will reset itself. Your car doe not need to be on. Not sure if this works, but it is worth a try and may save you $80!!

in order to get the code for that car you are going to have to call the dealership. and give them the specs on your car and maybe even your vin number.
