Ask dealer if it has a towing package on it. If it does, you usually just pop fuse in under hood for electric brakes, and harness to adapt into is usually near or at rear bumper. Even if it doesn't have brake wire, you should still be able to install adapter at rear, for lights etc. which is available from dealer or auto supply places, then you may have to run electric brakes separate.

SOURCE: gmc savana van will stop running while driving or start sputterin

It could be a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. Also try replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires and having the timing checked. Good luck.

SOURCE: need to know how to adjust rear brakes on 1990 gmc pickup

what year is the truck and does is have drum brakes or disk brakes in the rear if it is drum you can go thru the backing plate with a brake adjustment tool and adjust them until you feel drag against the drum when you spin the tire by hand

How do you install an electronic trailer brake controller in a 1995 GMC Suburban 1500?

a brake controller has 4 wires on it, Black, white, blue, red.

Black is positive battery 12 volts connect to 30 amp circuit breaker to the battery

White goes to good solid ground

red connects to white wire from the brake switch

blue wire connects to 7 way trailer connector at rear of truck. If the truck has trailer package you will find the blue wire and red wires under brake booster taped to the harness you can connect your blue brake control wire to that blue wire. At the rear of the truck the other end of the blue wire will be taped to a harness under the rear of the truck. you will have to now connect the blue wire to the blue input on your 7 way connector

Trailer harness

Check power converter to the harness. It is possible to wire a standard 4 wire harness into the system and bypass the turn signals. If there is seperate brake and turn signal bulbs, there has to be a converter used to get the signals to work. Also... try http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. This should help.
