Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Just had the fuel pump replaced at my local jeep dealer. 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee SE 4.0. went to start it to take it home after repair and it did the same thing, turns over but won't start. If I keep trying to start it off and on it had been starting after a while. Still at dealership now. Any suggestions?

Yeah I thought that too..and they wouldn't admit the mistake because of the cost. Put a second fuel pump in and it starts. Bringing it home, it really bogged down, almost to a stall before picking up again. Is this usual after a replacement like this? Will it work itself out? It happened 3 out of 7 syops on the way home.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the tip. I asked the dealership about that and they said "of coarse the relay was checked"..."

if the fuel system has been checked out and no engine light on then the next thing would be the tps sensor sometimes these will go bad and not throw a trouble code or the torque converter lockup switch in the tranny

1990 jeep cherokee 4.0 hard cranking problem

Try replacing crankshaft sensor. Cost is about 45 dollars and not hard to get to. Facing the engine from the front of the car it is located on the right side half way down the block. One small bolt and an electrical connection to remove. Be sure and keep white cover on sensor clean when installing new one. Available at local parts dealers .
