The tps is the throttle positationing sensor! and the fuel pressure regulator is on the right side of the intake hooked in to the fuel rail.

SOURCE: no gas going through fuel pressure regulator on 1995 dodge carava

I doubt the regulator is bad, the fuel pressure regulator is after the injectors in the return stream to the tank, more likely it is the fuel pump.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator had no vacuum line connected

another engineers wet dream. think of it this way . what is normally in the intake when the engine is running.. answer vacume, hence the regulator gets its vacume without a hose connected to it as its already in a full time vacume chamber.no hose required . ps be carefull to seat the regulator and o rings securely into the housing befor you reattach the secureing metal clip.
good luck chris

SOURCE: have a 01 Tahoe, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel

Pull the rubber inlet hose off at the throttle body and check for carbon build up around edge of throttle plate.USE a old toothbrush and some spray throttle body cleaner that can be purchased at autozone or othertype of parts house. Hold plate open spray and scrub with brush front, back and edges also make sure the idle air bleed hole on plate is open.

If yours is the v6 2.5 the tps is adjustable and you can turn it up and down. On my mazda it acted like it was in the fuel system and i ended up replacing the distributor.

Changing throttle body to carb. on 1990 Chevy Silverado. Is the pressure OK or do they make a pressure regulator to go on the feul rail?

Fuel pressure will have to reduced with a fuel pressure regulator but don't forget ignition timing advance and transmission shift points (if automatic) will be affected if you don't retain the TPS.

Why does it have intermittent high idle, sometimes for up to 1 min. then goes back down? to normal idle

Check the ICM. Idle control module. If the fuel pressure regulator was the problem, you'd have a hard start condition ans a lack of power.

Have a 2005 f150 4.6 that stalls can it be the fuel pump is weak

Could be a fuel pressure regulator not working. Thus ecu complaining about fuel Pressure. probably not enough because the regulator is worn and leaking down so will not maintain the proper pressure. You will need to google the make model and fuel pressure regulator to find it's location or library and repair manual. Otherwise, you need to measure the pressure and find the spec for the required fuel pressure. Probably somewhere around 120PSI

No Pump Noise--BUT it runs ?

Did you check out the pressure regulator,
MAF & TPS Sensors?

Runs poorly(very Rich, stumbles) when map sensor is plugged in, but runs smoother with it unplugged...new map sensor, EGR, TPS, O2, Fuel Pump, timing is right, good vacuum at map, no vacuum leaks,

If it is fuel injected you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator. The regulator is attached to intake manifold with a vacuum hose and the bladder sometimes fails causing gas to be dumped directly into the intake manifold. Only solution is to replace the fuel pressure regulator.

CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER FIRST..THEN SEE OF THE FUEL PRESSURE TO THE REGULATOR IS THE RIGHT PRESSURE AS THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ON THESE MODELS DO GO BAD
ALSO CHECK THE TPS TO SEE IF IT IS COMING BACK TO THE START POSITION LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND OUT

1993 jeep wrangler 4.0. Jeep stalls when accelerator is slightly engaged. sometimes hard to start after this. sometimes starts right up. already replaced crank position sensor. What else could be wrong?...

The fuel pressure you listed is to low,
The regulator should keep the pressure down to at least 45psi,removing the vacuum from the regulator it should spike to at least 55-60.
Did it start and run better with the hose off?
replace the fuel filter first, then check the pressure again.

do you have any check engine lights on? If you do, that is the first thing I would have checked. It does sound like plugged EGR, vacuum leak, or bad TPS

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. Could also be that the timing jumped. But I'm leaning towards the pressure regulator. Hope that I could help. Best wishes.

Car won't flood because of the TPS. But it will if the "fuel pressure regulator" is out of range (vacuum line is off?). The TPS is part of the throttle body.
