If the two dead cylinders are close together, then the head gasket may have blown out in between them.See if the timing has jumped. If it has a coil pack, the the coil pack may not be firing the two dead cylinders.

i am having the same problem. but it started as my cylinders 1and4. i replaces the coil packs, it ran fine, then had the problem again. i then replaced the crank sensor and it ran fine. tehn its stopped running. i replaced the wires, it didnt do anything. the i replaced the igntion conrtol module and my car ran fine. now my cylinders 2and3 wont fire. they keep coming firing, then not working at all leavin 1 and 4 to run the car. any idea what the problem would be? and the coil packs tested fine. i even swapped them and the cylinders that were not working still did not work.

Engine light is on and very heavy on fuel backfiring when pressing accelerator

Engine lite means engine is not running properly, backfire means you have a ignition problem, bad spark plug wires, bad spark plugs heavy on fuel means it is not burning the fuel properly to get good power from it. Check or replace plugs and wires. put some injector cleaner into the fuel tank if it is fuel injected

My 96 bronco 5.8 stumbles on acceleration.

Did it spark well on all the plugs? Usually if you have no change in idle with two wires removed it needs a new set of spark plug wires. If it was cylinder 2 & 3 (side by side) then you should suspect a head gasket. Does the Bronco have multiple coils or a coil pack with multiple inputs? Are these two plugs hooked up to one coil?

Jerking on normal acceleration.

You might try a TPS switch. It should set a code but yours did't. The throttle position sensor sets the spark advance and fuel flow to match. The other possibility is the EGR system which also should set a code.
If you have not changed the fuel filter, try that because if you accellerate hard the fuel slooshes to the back of the tank.
In normal driving the contaminents lay on the bottom of the tank.

Check engine light shows misfires in two cylinders and backfires.

Yes it could. make sure to use the correct champion plugs as well. Make sure your firing order is correct as the intake shouldn't cause a back fire. 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

Backfires in manifold on motor on acceleration. runs ok low speeds

Spark plug wires. If you take it in a garage or wait till it's dark, and have somebody brake torque it while you watch, you'll see spark jumping. But don't get run over! Do it in reverse. Or just change the wires.

Commonly it's a problem with water in the distributor or coil packs. Which ever you have. 91 probably a distributor.

Sudden loss of power, Backfiring, starts then stalls

Your timing belt could be broken. You want to have this checked as soon as possible to prevent any further engine problems.
