Open trunk. Undo the screw holding the assembly to the body. Pull firmly backward, or insert flat head screwdriver in front of assembly to pry backward. Light sockets twist out of assembly.

I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the brake shoes on a 2000 toyota corolla so I'm able to put the drums back on. Where do I adjust them?

Try pushing the automatic adjusting lever away from
the Star Wheel with a screw driver then with another screwdriver turn the star wheel. Watch your brake shoes. Turning the star wheel one way opens the brake shoes wider, turning it the other way closes the brake shoes. The star wheel is the rod like thing with a slot on both ends that
slides in between your brake shoes. It will have threads on it.

it will be your brake light switch which is located at the top of the brake pedal slightly up behind the dash.

1999 Toyota Corolla Seca - hatchback. the tail

If you put your foot on the brake, the tail lights and parking lights will still come on. Possibly your brake is sticking. Check to see if it is and if it is put WD40 for a quick fix. See a tech for them to fix your brake alignment. Good Luck!

97 Toyota Corolla. A friend of mine cannot get his car into reverse, due to the break light fuse. A local m stated that most likley needed to replace the lights in the break light. Cannot for the life...

If brake pedal sensor is bad, then lever cannot be taken out of Park unless you depress the shift lock near base of shift lever - pop off small rectangular tab to access.

Burned out brake light bulbs will not affect the shifting.
