Spark plug gap chart

as the system uses very high voltage ( 50 k to 65k volts) the plug gap pretty much is immaterial
The engine will run at both gaps listed and the problems that are likely to be encountered at at very high rpm
The gaps may start to falter from incorrect air fuel mixture as the lower gap may tend to short out in a rich mixture and the wide gap will miss if the mixture is too lean
Personally around the .055 " is a good compromise
Now here is the good news
If you opt for the more expensive plugs( patinium ) then they will be the last plugs you will buy
Even the cheap Bosch plugs will last the life of the average engine and never need replacing

What is the right spark plug gap for a 2002 Chevy tahoe 5.3L the auto parts store says .040 but on the car it says .060

always set them to the decal under the hood of the car older cars used .040 so older parts store workers think thats still the case but not always.the manufacture knows best

The .030 may cause a too rapid burn time condition. And Yeah, .060 is standard GM on almost any make/model nowdays.. It may be one of ur coils.. but that would show an individual cylinder.. Try the .060's and let me know.. esp if it wasnt doing it before
