Hard to tell your problem but i assume that you can't gety fuel to engine.Either the fuel filter is plugged or the pump is not running,if you can't hear the pump run then check the fuse and the relay for the pump and if they are good you need to replace the fuel pump.

      • Disconnect TP sensor.

      Is fuel pressure at the specified pressure (use the fuel pressure chart in Pinpoint Test HC)?
      Yes No GO to A8 . KEY OFF. GO to HC1 . A8 CHECK FUEL PRESSURE LEAKDOWN
      • GO to Pinpoint Test HC and observe WARNING, CAUTION AND HANDLING.
      • Fuel pressure tester installed.
      • Scan Tool connected.
      • Key on, engine off.
      • Access Output Test Mode and run fuel pump to obtain maximum fuel pressure.
      • Exit Output Test Mode.
      • Verify fuel pressure remains within 34 kPa (5 psi) of the maximum pressure for 1 minute after turning pump off.
      Does fuel pressure remain within 34 kPa (5 psi)?
      Yes No KEY OFF. GO to A9 . KEY OFF. GO to HC1 . A9 CHECK FUEL INJECTORS FOR VPWR
        Note: Check at least two fuel injectors, one on each bank. A no start condition can exist only if greater than 50% of the fuel injectors are without VPWR.
      • Disconnect any two fuel injectors.
      • Key on.
      • Measure VPWR circuit voltage at fuel injector harness connector.
      Is voltage greater than 10.5 volts?
      Yes No Natural Gas Vehicles:

      GO to A15 .

      KEY OFF. GO to A10 . REPAIR VPWR circuit. A10 CHECK FUEL INJECTORS ABILITY TO DELIVER FUEL
      • Connect fuel pressure gauge to Schrader valve.
      • Cycle key several times.
      • Locate and disconnect the inertia fuel shutoff (IFS) switch.
      • Monitor pressure gauge while cranking the engine for at least five seconds.
      Is there a pressure drop greater than 34 kPa (5 psi) while cranking the engine?
      Yes No The electronic engine control system is not the cause of the no start. RETURN to Section 3 , Symptom Chart for further diagnosis. REPLACE PCM (refer to Section 2, Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) ). A15 CHECK FUEL PRESSURE ON NATURAL GAS VEHICLES
      • Connect scan tool to DLC.

Hesitating when going a constant speed.. seems to be worse when fuel tank is below 1/2 and going up hill


may need to replace fuel filter.or could be an idle control sensor going bad. try running lucas fuel treatment through it 1st, it may only be a fuel injector clogging up, are you burning ethanol gas? i would go with fueling with good gas and adding the lucas fuel treatment !st before you do anything else. if that does'nt work then replace the fuel filter, if not that then i would replace the idle control sensor.hope this is some help to you!!

I have a maserti biturbo and i was wonering which way the fuel flows wether it would go through air conditioner pipe to the fuel pressure regulator and then into the injectors or does it go the other way...


I've never heard of fuel going thru the A/C lines! But normally it is fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, pressure regulator back to fuel tank. This is how it works on my Porsche, Jaguar and Alfa Romeo. Good luck!

CHECK FUEL PUMP FUSE + RELAY.IF BOTH GOOD SOUND LIKE FUEL PUMP.BUT SCAN IT FIRST TO MAKE PCM IS WORKING.BECAUSE IT CONTROL FUEL PUMP.

IF FUEL FILTER HAS BEEN REPLACED.FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR IS GOING BAD OR NOT GETTING VACUUM.CHECK VACUUM LINE GOING TO FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.MAKE SURE ITS GETTING VACUUM.IF YOU SEE GAS IN VACUUM LINE TO REGULATOR.REPLACE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.IF ALL IS GOOD FUEL PUMP GOING BAD.

I dont know where cirtain hoses go, i have a 1994 Ford probe with a mazda mx-6 motor, where does the hose from the fuel filter go? Does it go to the carb, and if yes. where?


94 ford probe does not have carb. it is fuel injection. that hose from fuel filter goes to the fuel rail on engine. if it is a vacuum hose it should go to the fuel regulator also on fuel rail.hope this helps

Re fuel gage.


the fuel tank sending unit is defective in your van, this has nothing to do with the fuel pump going out, this was a 100% incorrect statement by the shop that said this, but do understand that if you pull the fuel tank to repair the defective sender for the gas guage u might as well replace the fuel pump which also is in the fuel tank, they (the pump) are are getting worn out at about the miles you have on this car.

is the pumps running have you checked fuel comes out of it? if it does you will have to move on further along fuel line check next connection (fuel filter maybe) check there is stuff coming through there. Next goto other side of filter check there. Just go along the fuel line checking for fuel pressure. if there is fuel going all the way to the rail check the pressure regulator it may be stuck open therefore the gas would be getting pumped to the rail and going straight back to the tank i.e. no pressure.
