What you will have to do is remove the upper filler neck from the vehicle where it connects to the body.(where the fuel door is)Should only be 2 or 3 screws.Lower it down and remove it from the hose. There might be 2 hoses. One small and one big.You can either get a new one from the dealership or go to the salvage yard and get a used one.Good luck.

Loosing power when drining

Hi Jennifer-
I believe I may be able to help you with the gas spillage you are having when filling the tank. This happened on my 1998 Toyota Camry.
One day, even though I was low on fuel, the attendant had trouble adding gas to my tank. Gas would spill during filling or the nozzle would click off (as though it was full) even though it was not. I had to stand there myself and slowly add gas until the tank was full.
I learned that my car had a thin vent tube that would run from the gas tank to the gas tank opening. As gas is rushing into the tank during filling, the air that is being displaced from the gas tank escapes through this tube. This tube had rusted closed a bit and was restricting the air flow escaping from the tank during pumping causing the problems I described. Once this tube was replaced, my problem was solved!
Hope this helps!

Gas tank flap stuck open

if the flap is intact you can try spraying some wd-40 on its hinge. If its missing you need a filler neck for your fuel tank.

I have a 2002 grand prix and it will not let me put gas in i can put about .3 gal before it spits gas back out i'm not to sure what it can be any ideas?

there is a canister next to the fuel tank called a purge solenoid. this is a small check ball that allows air into the tank as you are filling it. trace the line comming from you uel inlet nozzle.... the valve is stuck shut, causing the gas pump to shut off because it thinks the pressure in the tank is high.

When putting gas in my car (2004 pontiac grand prix, 3.8) the gas pump keeps shutting off like my car is full when its not. Any suggestion to what that means?

This is not a bad thing. You have a very tight emissions system. You know your car at this point better than anyone else. You can try this, don't put the gas nozzle very tight into the gas filler. Put the nozzle into your tank and just pull it out a fraction of an inch. This will give the fuel tank the ability to BREATH while your filling the tank .This should solve your problem. GOOD LUCK.

I have a 2000 Grand Prix SE and car specs say that it has a 68 liter gas tank. I converted that into gallons, and its about 17.8 gallons. when i refueled, the gas pump only said it put in 12 gallons when...

make sure you fuel tank float isn't becoming saturated with gasoline. If the gauge reads full when it is indeed full, you probably don't have a short in the wire that goes to your fuel float sending unit. If that wire is bare and shorts out it will say you tank is empty since it works on resistance open or unplugged the gauge would read full, closed is or going to ground the gauge will read empty. I would think the float might be bad or the float arm got stuck down when you turned a sharp corner. I had one of these cars but I don't remember exactly where the fuel level sending unit is located and if you need to remove the fuel tank to gain access to the sending unit. I hope this helps you

Gas had moving from full to empty after i fill up

sending unit in tank may be shorting out or the wire to tank is shorting try removing plug connection and applying some electrical cleaner and plug in and remove 4 or 5 times to clean plug contacts they may be dirty worst case replace sending unit in tank.

Ac vent problem

Damper/flap for driver's side is probably stuck. Try moving the selector from cold to hot several times. Also, move the recirc/outside air control if the previous doesn't work.

98 Jeep Grand Cherokee silver gas tank entry missing

You will need to replace the filler neck. If you can't fill the tank the flap must be stuck in the vent line.
