I have a Y reg 1600 vauxhall astra estate with the cigarette lighter fuse blown. I have found the fuse box but do not know which fuse requires changing. Does anyone knw which one it is ?. Ignore the car type in the listing below. For some reason vauxhall does nt appear and I had to list a name or the site wouldnt let me post.

engine has nothing to do with it...its in the electronics...no matter what you have for a engine...electronics are the same....fuse could be located in the attached wire that plugs into the cigarette lighter itself...see if you can get behind the female adapter and follow the wire with your hands to find a in line fuse....other than that,,,its in the fuse box,,,depending on location...should say acc feed on label where fuse goes in...hope this helps

is the cigarette lighter working if so it may be the one on the radio its self. can blow the radio fuse and not the main fuse. radio fuse is less think it is 5amp as main fuse can be 15-20amp fuse.

there must have been a weak connection somewhere in the line.
use a volt meter to trace from the lighter to the fuse box.
I have also seen the wire connection go bad during a short in the back of the fuse box itself where the wire goes in.
follow the 12 volts and you will find your problem.

Check all your fuses are ok,if all ok check the earth on to the body directly under the fuse box,there should be 2or3 earth leads there.directly onto the chasiss leg clean them all and refit.

look behind the dash drivers side pocket the fuse box unclips from the bottom and swings forward.

• There are two fuses that go to the cigarette lighter. Look for the blown one or replace one and then the other just to make sure.
• In the passenger compartment fuse box look for -

1. Fuse F1 - 10Amp - ACC+
2. Fuse F1A - 10Amp - Batt+

i think vauxhall used the canbust system on this car and you cant cut into the wiring m8 you can buy a repair kit from internet but it might be expensive
