Question about 2008 Jeep Commander

1 Answer

The remote on my 2008 Jeep Commander is totally fickle. Sometimes it works, most of the time it does not. I open it with the manual key and the panic alarm goes off. When I put the remote key into the ignition the panic alarm goes off (after being annoying). What is happening?

Try replacing remote batteries, but must have a second programmed key to reset first one in case its gets uncoded, best advise do not take long time to replace battery, if problem persist have a good honest mechanic inspect door key cylinder security switch if it is not disconnected, but before you do this, if right side front door or rear door has cylinder try opening vehicle from this doors, if they unlock vehicle and alarm doesn't go off you might have problems inside driver's door cylinder switch, on this year vehicle must use STAR SCANNER from chrysler jeep dodge to solve problems

Alarm wont set 2008 jeep commander

the car came with 2 RKE FOBs
are both dead.?
alway have 3 FOB if not you can not reprogram a new one. self.
can cost you $300 for more to tow your car to the dealer if the 1 fob dies. never run one fob. or bad happens.
put in a new battery in the FOB for door issues
the transponder part does not use the battery .
the transponder must be good, or the car would never run.
the jeep cuts fuel after 2 seconds if the transponder fails.

I started my Jeep 5.7 Hemi with my remote starter.

the remote start my have still been sending the transponder signal to the computer when you put your key in the ignition it sent a signal to the computer as well which would have given you the problem, all you would have needed to do is open your door wait 5sec which would kill the accessory because you have your door open then start the car with your key
