Seems you have a dead short somewhere in electrical system. have the alternator checked even tho it is new.these have been known to b bad from the getgo. also have the starter motor taken out and checked by a good automotive electrician.these can have a short but still work
check the voltage regulator.these are either built into alternator or are connected remotely
the alternator and battery complete the electrical circuit, so if one is bad it will stop the vehicle when battery charge is gone .
hanks for contacting

Check fluid level, which I would assume has already been done.. If it is full(check with it in park and engine running) , then I would suspect that there is a problem with the torque converter. Hard to say much else without having a chance to test drive and see it do what you are saying.

How do you replace a flywheel on a 89 ford ranger 2.9liter 4wheel drive manual?

after you take the transmission out you need to remove the clutch and there will be 6 bolts that hold the flywheel on once you take them out you'll be able to remove the flywheel

Battery drains while driving

the power wire that comes off the back side of the altnator could have a bad connection, I would take the nut off and make sure the connection is good, if it is i would follow the wire all the way over to the battery to make sure there are no brakes in the wire. if there are no brakes in the wire check the connection at the battery, chances are you find something going on with that wire.

Problem with loosing charge on battery it seems that the alternator is draining it. have replaced both and the same problem. have also checked all other connections on the motor and still no luck. any

is voltage at battery when engine running and headlights on around 13.5-14volts?
if so its not the alternator
do a current draw test with amp gauge in system with everything off 0.02-0.05amp good any more than an amp will drain battery over night something staying powered up or a short can cause this

have you checked your drive belt and the tension pully ? it sounds like the belt is'nt turning the alternator fast enough to supply the battery
