Obviously your vehicle has a Carburetor and I strongly suspect that the Accelerator Pump needs replacement and proper adjustment. This device injects a small amount of fuel into the Intake Manifold to overcome the Stumble you describe. Has the Ignition Timing been properly set? If it is somewhat retarded that can contribute to the Stumble. Have it checked by an ASE Certified Mechanic.

I think these actuators depend on vaccuum, check that all the hoses are in place and intact, could also be the vaccuum pump.

1997 pontiac firebird 3.8 L sending a P1406 code, not in book. isdle is very rough. plugs and wires are new, So is Cat.

P1406: EGR Valve Pintle Position Circuit. Check for carbon buildup in the EGR Valve as well as make sure it moves with ease . I would also check the vaccuum line everywhere but look closely near your canister and follow any vaccuum hose going to the EGR vavle circuit for any dry rot or being loose. I hope thsi helps and good luck.

Wont switch gears tell at 5500 rpms

check out tps sensor it has a big effect on shifting of vehicle. The data provided by TPS is invaluable for proper startup, idle and easy throttle response of the car. These operations are affected when a bad throttle position sensor feeds erroneous data to the car's computer because of which the:
  • Engine malfunction indicator light (MIL) is turned on
  • The driver of a car experiences difficulty while changing gears.
  • The fuel economy of the car drops drastically.
  • Causes difficulty in setting base-ignition-timing of the car a bad tps causes transmission shift issues, bucking, jerking, idle surging, engine cut off, hesitation on take off, surge while cruising down highway. it may not be that but try another one and find out. you can test the tps, just unplug connector to it. use a ohms meter and hook one lead to the top and other to the center prongs on tps itself. next move throttle very slow, if good tps will move needle on ohms tester it will sweep up without cutting out. but if you perform this test and the needle hesitates at any time you move throttle plate it is bad. 1 is ground, 2 is signal, the prongs on tps. good-luck

What causes My 92 Tercel to stay in high rev i already went over the accelerator unit its not tht Im think it has to be with the sensors ?

If the gas pedal moves freely and is not sticking check for a vaccuum leak. This car has many small vaccuum hoses. When rubber is that old it cracks. Should be an easy fix just replace any old cracked hoses.

After replacing tps devoleped a miss in motor no sensor codes showing new plugs and wires checked all fuel injectors for ohms show ok

Did you get the tps lever under the throttle pin,so it will move the tps?If so ,try loosening the screws and moving it one way ,or another, and hold it there while you tighten it,and try removing negative cable from battery for 20 seconds to reset the computer.

Your code refers to the TPS being out of range-low. The voltage should be from .04 to 4.7 volts with a volts meter connected to the DK BLU wire and the Blk wire at the TPS connector. The key needs to be in run postion with engine off. The throttle being moved slowly while watching the Volts meter to see if there any sudden drops or jumps in the voltage as you move the throttle to wide open. If the voltage is out of range, the TPS will need to be replaced. This could account for your problems that you have been having...make sure the connector isn't bad that is plugged into the TPS. Sometimes these get bad and cause a problem.

No heat in my 2002 chevy s-10. Already changed

The heat is controled by a control valve installed in one of the heater hoses. It normally is controled by eather a vaccuum line or a cable coming from inside the truck at the dash where you slide the hot to cold adjustment.Find the valve under the hood at the hose, have someone move the control inside the truck. If its vaccuum you can pull off the hose and see if you have vac.If its a cable you should se it move.
