Check voltage at big wire on starter with voltmeter, should be same voltage as battery. If ok check voltage at small wire at starter, while some one turn's key to start should have voltage, replace starter, if no voltage, check ignition switch for voltage while you turn key to start and off probe all wire's at switch, if no voltage bad switch, if you do have voltage, check clutch starter safety switch ( if stander trans )under dash or neutral safety switch ( if auto trans ) at trans. probe for voltage.

Perhaps you could take it your mechanic and see if there are any codes anywhere...if not, then did you check the battery? might be bad...run a load test and start with that...if not, then check all your battery connections...tight and CLEAN...try that..if not, check for power down at the starter..if present, check for power going across the solenoid...if power comes in and does go out, then replace your starter..if comes in and goes out, then with the ignition held in the crank position, tap the starter with a hammer..if it cranks...replace the starter.

i think you've blown a fusible link in the wire to your starter . start following the wire and checking it for power as you go to the starter .

Went to start my 99 ford escort and lights came on and chimes as normal went to turn key and heard a little pop sound. Then no lights no start nothing. Please help I'm stranded

if it did this when the starter motor was engaged when this happened then it would be that that is a fault and it has blown the main fuse in the engine bay fuse box. could also of damaged the ignition relay in main fuse box.

Put a new battery won't turn over can't get no power

Check main engine fuses in fuse box, also check to make sure you have the right battery and that the terminals are not corroded badly and that they are tight. Some of those escorts need a reverse terminal battery. The positive and negative are on opposite sides than normal. If the wrong battery was installed, there could be some major damage. If all that is good, check the ignition module.

On my ford escort 1995 the ignition is not working, i turn the key and nothing hapens the lights and radio turn on fine but it does not try to start or click or do anything, could it be the starter motor...

the fuse is in the underhood fuse/power distribution box, but doubt that is the problem, and if it is blown then there is a short in the wiring.

Engine won't shut off '91 Escort GT

Check the fuse box is not full of water.
Thet suffered from leaking windscreens, and it filled the fuse box.
If not, you are looking at a faulty ignition switch.

Blower moter will not work

Check the 30 amp fuse in the fuse box under the instrument panel on the drivers-side. If it's alright remove the connector from the heater resistor mounted on the passengers side close to the blower motor. These are usually secured with small hex headed screws. With the ignition switch in run, turn the heater on and use a test light to see if you have voltage coming to any of the connector pins. If you don't you'll need to trace back until you locate the problem. If you do have voltage check the resistor. Don't forget to turn off the ignition switch.
