Question about 1999 Lexus RX 300
This is a tough one. Remove the alternator and the bolt and be sure the threads on the engine block and the bolt are clean. I generally spray the bolt tip with a cleaner or wd40 to help it start.
Be sure the surface is clean, you can try hanging the alt from its bracket to help pivot into place and support some of the weight but it has to have enough play to the slide up or down against the block. This one is more trial and error, just turn the bolt with your fingers until you feel it bite. Best of luck its a tight spot.
