Question about 1997 Volkswagen Golf
You may have the problem I did. It's something called a "Hall Effects Sensor" and it's part of the assembly for the distributor. Even after an oil change, it still flickers "red".

Unhook the battery and hook it back up, that will fix the light. The light it just warning you cause the people that did the oil change before did not resent the computer that is why the oil light is on. so just do what i said and it should work.
