Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor.It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for. The blower motor and fan are serviced as an assembly only.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the passenger side sound insulator.
  3. Detach the electrical connections from the blower motor.
  4. Remove the blower motor retaining screws, then remove blower motor and fan assembly. To install:
  5. Install blower motor and fan assembly, then secure using the retaining screws.
  6. If equipped, connect the blower motor cooling tube.
  7. Attach the electrical connections to the blower motor.
  8. Install the right side sound insulator.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.

Locate the engine temperature sensor


For 1997 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L SFI OHV 4cyl the Coolant Temperature Sensor is located under hood, driver side, upper engine area, below valve cover, mounted in cylinder head.

its a black box 2inches wide by about 4to5 inches long on front of motor probably mounted with 2 8 or 10 mm screw,located top of intake plenum

You will be needing a sidepost terminal mounted battery for this vehicle.I believe the group size is a 78.Your local autoparts store can give you the battery when looked up with the exact year and motor size of your car.

There is a special tool you need to purchase . It connects on your front motor mount located on top by radiator.. This is what is called the dog bone in the industry . The specialty tool is put in the place of dog bone mount and is adjustable whith vehicle placed in neutral... The tool pulls the motor towards the radiator giving you complete easy access and complete visibility for what you are trying to achieve
