Not sure about the roll over switch but maybe a fuel pressure regulator problem

Why does my 1987 ford f-150 with the 302 v8 not gettin fuel to fuel rail

Your fuel pump is turning on for that few seconds as the key turns to the on position, if not, the connector to the fuel pump the wires are shorting out, or disconnecting within, the wire, will have to replace wires, to pump, or replace the pump, also, check the relays between the air cleaner box, and, the brake master cyl., black cover with wires coming out the bottom, those relays wires could be breaking down. 1987 ford 150. Here is the problem. She will cold start and even run but once she gets warm up the fuel injectors stop pumping and she shuts off. You can tell it's not getting gas.

There are 2 possibilities that I know of. First, the module has a cold start circuit that switches to a RUN circuit after a temperature switch warms up. I can't say if the spark would stop before the gas does so if you feel this is a gas problem the module may not be your problem.

The second possibility is the fuel pump. There should be a fuel pump relay in addition to the fuse. Since it is not blowing the fuse, your relay may be cutting out. You may have a clogged fuel filter making the fuelpump overwork. It would help if you can get a pressure reading from the gas line.

Autozone and Oreillys do loan out tools with a deposit. They also scan your vehicle for free. Then you can test fuelpump pressure cold and hot.

1987 Ford Ranger just stopped. Think it is a fuel problem. What should I check it has electronic fuel injection?

Check if you have pressure in the fuel system that you can check the pressure check port, or disconnect the return hose that is leaving the pressure regulator if you have gasoline in these parts is no problem of fuel pump . Also you have to check if power is being supplied to the terminal connecting wing fuel pump because it could be electrical problem and check the fuse and relay fuel pump. Thanks and good luck

If you hear the relay click, but no pressure at all then it would be the fuel pump needing replacement

1985 Ford F-150 Truck (EFI) Fuel Problems

Same problem with my 85 F-150 5.0 EFI---turned out that the fuel pump relay under the hood was teriffically corroded on the inside (I opened up the relay to look inside). When I checked the voltage at the fuel pump it would show 3.5-6 volts instead of 12 volts.

I was thinking fuel blockage or perhaps failure of the in-tank pumps. Sometimes the truck would start and run, othertimes it would neither start nor run. Typically, if running it would stay running until turned off (where the relay had to break).

Changing the green fuel pump relay fixed the problem--12 volts now at the pump and no reoccurance.

Good luck--let me know if this fixed your F-150.
