As far as towing to tow the way you are saying I'd pull the drive shaft to prevent transmission trouble. As to fixing the steering, first determine what is wrong. If the wheel is not hard to turn and it tseems to turn normally. There is not a power steering problem. Now if when you turn the wheel the tires don't turn you have to look under the front end and have someone turn the wheel to see what broke. Depending on what broke will determine how hard it is to do, if special tools are needed, if it is a major or minor problem etc. Most things can be done at home others should go to a repair shop. Also after repairing have the front end realigned. Any part being replaced in front suspension can throw the alignment off. Good luck.

1. If you disconnect the transmission , no.
2. Either your steering shaft - relatively cheap and easy to replace - or the steering box - expensive and hard to replace - are at fault. How was your luck lately?

How can I tow a 1999 dodge intrepid

It would work best on a tow dolly. I imagine that has an automatic transmission. Its a front wheel drive so you want the drive tires off the ground if you want the least amount of grief. *** Make sure your dolly swivels or you will be sorry.

Can I tow a 2007 9-3 on a dolly behind rv?

Front wheel drive, front tires off the ground, Yes. All wheel drive, you have to pull the rear drive shaft. Rear wheel drive, you should pull the drive shaft. But you can pull it with the car in neutral.

Should be okay if you use a tow dolly. This means you drive the front wheels up on the tow dolly and strap the tires down. The rear wheels are like trailer tires and should roll as if they do when driven.

Can you tow bravado with tow dolly

as long as the drive wheels are off the ground. So, if rear wheel drive, the rear wheels must be off the ground.
If front wheel drive, the front wheels must be on a dolly.
If all wheel drive, all 4 wheels mst be off the ground.

Just wondering if an automatic ford focus 1.6 can be towed. What damage could this do to the car?

Its best to tow with the front wheel off the ground to prevent excessive wear on the drivetrain. No damage will be done to the rear wheels other than normal wear and tear on the tires and bearings.

Can I tow a 2000 Nissan Altima front wheel drive manual transmition with my RV?

Yes but I would use a dolly to do it. The problem is the possibility of the car dropping into gear. Also it is not recommended that you tow a Front wheel drive vehicle with the wheels on the ground. You could damage the transmission. U-Haul and a Number of other rental locations rent a Wheel hopper dolly. This puts the 2 front wheels on the dolly to be towed. It is relatively cheap and will save you damage to the vehicle.

Need to tow 1999 F250 about 150 miles home. What

If you have a stick shift, you rent a 2 wheel tow dolly and run the front tires onto it and strap it down. Put the truck in neutral and away you go.
If you have an Automatic you want all 4 wheels on a flatbed or tow trailer. You rent a car hauler trailer and piggyback the truck onto the trailer. A good rental will know the weight and rent you the right trailer.
