Sounds like the heater of your o2 sensor is giving problems, you can try to fix it if its a visible problem with the cable going to it or the cable of the sensor, they are just a simple resistance that heats the sensor fast and allows the ecm to work with it right after u turn on the ignition.
the cables are usually white and has 2 of them, if the sensor has 4 cables, both white cables are the ones going to the heater...if its a 3 cable sensor, again, the white one.
hope this helps
have fun underneath that car

When is the code detected?Heater current requirements too low or high in the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) heater control circuit Symptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
code p0141 is O2sensor heater circuit malfunction( bank one sensor 2)
there is chance that wire from that sensor is touching, part of your exhaust system, and either is open or shorting to ground

Service engine soon light

Sorry, we are not "psychics" on this site. You need to diagnose the service engine soon light to find out which of the MANY circuits and systems monitored by your onboard computer is malfunctioning.

2002 dodge caravan engine light on code showing p0135 .please advice.thanks.

  • O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction - Bank 1 - Sensor 1
  • Basically the ECM Electronic Control Unit has determined your O2 sensor is taking to long to begin reacting properly.
  • The causes could be
  1. O2 heater element resistance could be to high.
  2. An internal short or opening in the heater element.
  3. O2 heater circuit wiring with high resistance.
  4. Open or short to ground in the wiring harness.

  • The fixes are
  1. Check the harness and connector to the O2 sensor for shorts or ground.
  2. Replace that O2 sensor.

  • Bank 1 sensor 1 location for this vehicle is located on the exhaust manifold back by the firewall on top of the manifold..
  • Thank you for using FixYa

My 99 Jeep Wrangler failed inspection for a P0650 mil malfunction. Is this a wiring problem or a bad bulb/fuse?

DTC P0650 represents an issue with the actual check engine light (malfunction indicator lamp). Ignition voltage is supplied directly to the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). The powertrain control module (PCM) controls the lamp by grounding the control circuit via an internal switch called a driver. The primary function of the driver is to supply the ground for the component being controlled. The driver has a fault line which is monitored by the PCM. When the PCM is commanding a component ON, the voltage of the control circuit should be low, near 0 volts. When the PCM is commanding the component control circuit OFF, the voltage potential of the circuit should be high, near battery voltage. If the fault detection circuit senses a voltage other than what is expected, the fault line status will change causing the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to set.

A DTC P0650 indicates a problem with the circuit to the actual check engine light itself. If the fault is current, check if the check engine (service engine soon) lamp comes on when you turn the ignition on, If not, we will need to pull the engine control computer and ground the wire that goes to the light. If the light comes on, it is a failed pcm which must be replaced and reprogrammed. If not, it is either the circuit to the cluster or the cluster itself.

Good luck.

- Thermostat may be fault (most common cause)

P0650 - Malfunction Indicator Lamp Control Circuit Malfunction (Check Engine light)

Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
Possible causes - Harness or connectors for the MIL (Check Engine Light) circuit is open or shorted
- MIL bulb may be faulty
- Faulty ECM

Error P0700. What is the cause? How to repair it?

P0700 JEEP - Transaxle Control System Malfunction
The transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transaxle controls.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Driveability problems
- Transaxle shifting problems

Possible causes
- Shorted or open circuit within transmission control module (TCM)
- Failure of transaxle control module

Tech notes: Since the P0700 is just and informative code, check the TCM for more codes to resolve the problem. So you'll have to have the dealer or another qualified shop/technician pull the transaxle codes from the TCM and go from there.

Good luck (remember to rate this answer)

I have a 2001 pontiac grand am se v6 . The service engine soon light came on and i got a free diagnostic ran and it brought up these codes; P0443, P0449, and P0141.

PO443, Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction
PO449, Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit Malfunction
PO141, Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2).
I don't understand why the free diagnostic didn't come with a service recommendation?
