Not sure which fan is number2 but if it is the air con one, it may be a faulty aircon solonoid, if its the first one engine fan, then more than likely a faulty temperature switch. Hope this helps, Good luck

97 continental over heats . radiator fans works, we even connected fans directly to batt for cont run. drove about 90 miles with heater on,with full of water, fans runing continously, it still got very hot ...

One thing people tend to look over is the very inexpensive reservoir/overflow tank cap. These tend to lose pressure over time due to heat rotting the seal.

The electric fans run continously when the engine is running, the temperature guage on the instrument panel does notmove/work

you need to replace the temperature switch, that will solve your problem with the gauge and most likely the fan also.

Radiator fan cycles continously. Fan radomely comes on and off frequently and has consistently gotten worse. Because of intermittent problem, Mazda was unable to diagnose problem. Any advice would be...

First, intermittent problems are the worst! I would look for a bad or loose connection. Does the fan ever run consistently? If you turn on A/C most cars will run fans continuously, if yours works ok on this setting then problem is isolated to temp control (fans ok, wiring ok, relay ok) The temp switch would be probably be faulty (or connections). If your fans cycle even on A/C setting then you are looking at a complete electrical inspection. Switches, wiring, fuses, connections, relays, fans...everything! Hope this helps and good luck!
