Get it clean , let it dry , if you cant see where it's leaking from try throwing flour at the area you suspect wet flour shows up good throw a few handfulls at it see what gets wet first /.. isolate the problem.thermostat/hose/hose attach brckt (plastic) :s loose clamps / look around ,you work cheaper than a mechanic :)

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima and it has been leaking coolant come to find out it leaked into the oil. Now car will not start, how do I fix it? Thanks

does car turn over or is it seized-if seized might be better to look for a new ,rebuilt or bone yard motor depending on ur $$$ status---if turns over coolant gets into oil by either bad or cracked intake or intake gasket----blown head or head gasket---cracked cylinder these are the cuses that oil and coolant mix and neither is a simple fix will need to pull motor apar for repair

Nissan maxima 2000. Oil dipstick level shows too high. Regular oil changes done and filter with proper amount added. White smoke alerted me to recheck things. Only thing I found was dipstick shows oil

If the oil level goes up, something has to be leaking into the engine oil pan.
That would either be gasoline from the injectors or coolant from the radiator. If you are not adding coolant, it could be a leaking injector.

Transmission leak spraying bad under motor on 2000 crycler concord LX 3.8

transmission line is loose @ connection, or has a hole(leak) in the line, even a crack in housing. trans is a large pump, high pressure, if you have a leak, just start your car and look under it, you'll know real quik.

1999 Dodge Caravan 3.0 on the right side there is a large square pan (larger that oil pan) looking underneath it appears antifreeze is pouring out in a steady stream from one of the bolt holes on this...

I believe u are referring to the tranny pan. And if u are loosing that much fluid I would start looking around the block for any sings of a blown head gasket. If u live in colder climate it could also be a freeze plug that is bad. In Minnesota I see this all the time. People think they can do there own coolant flush and end up putting to much water in and freezing the block partially and when it thaws loose coolant from that plug. I would suspect a bad rear seal in the motor or a bad oil pan gasket be the cause of the oil. But without seeing the vehicle and the leaks I cannot say for certain but those are the things I would think it to be. Now no offense to you at all, but I think I would take it in to a shop to find the problem, or a food friend that knows about cars, like what a tranny pan is. And like I said no offense to you. But to me this sounds like it could be a big deal of work not for the novice.

Where does the transmisson fluid go?

if its a manual transmission, you have to remove the pan from under the car, and replace the fluid and clean the filter , its a magnet clean the metal slivers with a clean cloth put new fluid in. if its a automatic u will have 2 dip sticks one is oil and one is tranny the oil dip stick is usually yellow or white tranny is red and closer to the back of the motor u need a transmission fluid funnel put the funnel were the dip stick go's u can get it from your local auto store put in the fluid your ower manual calls for and if its a leak add some none leak none slip fluid

Leaking water between the motor & the firewall. any ideas

Probably one of your heater hoses, which flows coolant to the heater core in the dashboard, is leaking back there at the firewall.

2000maxima leaking oil were motor and tranny bolt together

Sounds like the rear engine/crank seal is leaking. Transmission must be removed in order to replace this seal.

1996 nissan maxima gle, 3.0L auto. There is Coolant leaking from the front of engine behind a/c compressor as best as i can tell. I know the engine has an enternal water pump, what is the best way to tell...

You will have to see it. There are dentist type mirrors available in auto parts strore that will allow for you to see it, PLEASE do this when the engine is relatively cool. e.g. start-up. The coolant generally travels straight down, although this is not always the case it is a good indication as to the locatioon of the leak. It is impossible for the coolant to leak from between the block and pan. It appears so as the coolant travels along the rim of the oil pan on its way to the ground. If you can get a thin cardboard strips in there you can tell where the wet starts and stops

go with the new solenoid, in order to change it the trans pan has to come off so install a new filter at that time.

Leaking transmission fluid

Does this vehicle have a transmission pan? If so, is there a gasket betwixt pan and motor? Bad gasket? Or is the leak out the side/back of the tranny where the seals are?
