I have a factory installed alarm on my 2003 jeep cherokee ,how do i disable alarm

Hello! The drivers side door lock/unlock switch is more than likely defective...Having said that, the alarm system on Jeeps are a constant problem...To disable the system requires removing the drivers door panel and cutting the Light Green/Orange wire at the switch...And installing a 465 Ohm resistor...Not something done without the necessary skills...
I would have the vehicle towed to a Jeep dealer and have them test the drivers door switch and disable the alarm....Guru...saailer

Battery went dead on car, car security system is in safe mode and want let car start, when you unlock the car alarm sounds and want do anything else, Battery has been replaced, can i reset the alarm if so...

Hello,

The new battery should have reactivated the alarm? If this is a keyless entry, than your original code should work?

If it doesn't than you need to call the dealer, or seervice provider for your alarm system there has to be a reset code, or a new one has to be provided?

I would try your normal code first! If it works, your good, if not, your going to be on the phone! No body but the place you purchased your vehicle from or the Alarm system provider can give you that answer!

Kind Regards!

My key suddenly will not unlock my driver's door on my 2004 Rendezvous! I do not have a keyless entry system on this vehicle, and there is only one key entry on the entire vehicle on the driver's door....

hi, this might be stupid of me, but, if you have disconected the car battery, it may need reseting of the alarm system imobilizer or the battery in the key is dead (the key has a small battery to send a signal to the (imobilizer, door locks and alarm), if the battery is dead, needs replacing and reseting of the car electrical system. change battery in the key or fob first note polarity wich way the battery fits + - then take the ((negative feed off the car battery and dag (put the negative on and off ) it a few times until the alarm sounds) you will need to be quick to keep a connection or you will need to do this again. hope this has helped gerry

1998 Camry, turn ignition to On kills electical system

This is a Direct Fault Caused by the Alarm System Starter Kill. Do you have an Alarm Override Switch???? You may need the Dealership to Reset the Alarm if not.

Alarm system not working

A friend of ours did some research and discovered it was the ECU (fuse?) that needed to be reset. We removed the ECU (which controls the cruise control, and "learns" the driving patterns of the driver and adjusts the fuel economy) and the car is running fine. To reset the ECU you need to remove the negative cable from the battery, turn the car to "A/C On" (don't crank the engine) for 10 seconds, then shut it off. Replace the negative battery cable. This should reset the ECU. The car does run much better with the new battery. The previous battery was the original and was approximately 6 1/2 years old so it needed to replaced anyway.
