When you say reset do you mean you had the battery disconnected and the light is on due to that or another reason like the light just came on while driving which would indicate a fault in the system.
sounds like your idle air control valve is defective, it controls your idle speed, Check around and get the best price you can. check your local auto parts or internet for the best prices.Eary to replace ,if you can operate a screwdriver you should be able to replace it youself..just a couple screws and a wire connection..
There are lots of sensors in your car that tell the Airbag Module that you are in the seat.
The seatbelts also have sensors in them and are known for going bad. Run down to your local autozone and they will have something to hook up to it to find the code that the Airbag set. That will lead you in the dirrection you need to look in. (Important) YOUR AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WHILE THE LIGHT IS ON IF YOU ARE IN A ACCIDENT
try the following it usually cure s this kind of problem Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls at stops and low erratic idle speed and rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake
I have this problem too and my new Saab mechanic told me that I would probably need a new instrument cluster. He said a brand new one costs $2500 but that he would order me a used one from a car that had fewer miles than mine as you can set them back but not forward. He both diagnosed and temporarily "fixed" the problem by slamming his hand really hard on the dash over the panel and all the lights and gauges immediately started working fine....for now. I haven't had the work done yet (I have a 1998 Saab 900S with 130K) so if anyone has any other ideas about this I would love to know what they are. This issue with the gauges and dash lights has been happening on and off for over a YEAR and this is the first time someone has had any idea what it is. I already had my ignition switched replaced so we know that's not what it was. THANKS
The shift pattern is standard 5 speed H: 1st is all the way up to the left, 2nd straight back and down from that, 3rd is up and slightly to the right of 1st, 4th is straight back and down from 3rd, 5th is up and all the way over to the right. Reverse has a reverse lock out collar under the shift knob that you grip with one finger on either side of the bottom of the knob and pull up while pulling back and all the way to the right.
