When i engage the four wheel drive on my 1988 ford it is rough

When i engage the four wheel drive on my 1988 ford bronco, the trck drives forward but the weels seem like they are all trying to spin at a different rate. the front tires will every now and then spin forward quickley and the back tires will jump backwards quickley. the gravel in the driveway is all loosend up and thrown arround after i drive the truck ip it. i am not shure what the problem is. could it be a transfer case problem? the truck will drive but it drives very rough.

Well you might have different size tires ( 4x4 trucks you need to have the same size tires on the front and back ) or there are different size gear in the front or back.

There should be a tag on your differentials front and rear clean them up and check to see if the ratios match

In general, the Ford Bronco running gear is identical to an F150 4X4 running gear for the same year. The only difference is the length of the rear drive shaft. I doubt the F250 gear will fit, since typically the F150 running gear is made by ford, and the F250 running gear comes from commercially available parts (Dana, etc).

Start out with buying yourself a $25 book from the Parts House. The I would go to the front HUBS, secure & safety vehicle before you do anything, Clean, Inspect, Lune & Repair front Hubs as required, get the brakes while you're there. Check your drive line, axles, u-joints etc. Clean , repair , replace as needed. Check for Tranfer case Operation. Is there power going to the front Axle when 4WD is engaged? do you feel a change when you engage the Transfer Case? Have you checked the Power on the circuits? Have you Manual or Auto-locking Front Hubs? Answer all those Questions & read before you do anything.

My four wheel drive in my 94 bronco will not work

Check to see if your front drive shaft is turning. If it is it's most likely the hubs.
