Remove serpatin belt which is accessable from under the wheel side.(passager side). You will need to take the plastic covers off...I use a screw driver and a pair of wire cutters, but don't cut the plastic studs, just use the wire cutters to pry with. Discharge the system. Disconnect both lines (10mm bolts). Unplug wiring connector, remove compressor from bracket and just replace it like you took it out, but you will need to vacuum it needs to hold vacuum for at least 25 minutes. If it holds, then you can charge it...I like to use manifold gages while vacuumed down then apply the R-134 to the line, bleed it a little to keep as much air out of the system as possible, then open the manifold gages while the engine is running about 2000rpms and the A/C is on max. I use a themometer in the vent outlet inside vehicle, and charge it until the temp is around 37 degrees, you might not need to add oil since there should be enough in the condensor and evaporator already.

I have a 2000 year saturn now has a 1996 single overhead cam..this 1996 motor is compatible with the 2000 saturn? the tranny seems to slip with the 1996 motor? maybe wire priblem to tranny?

When the engine was replaced the sensors off the 2000 should have gone on the 96. The engines are basically the same, but the sensors are what can cause all sorts of problems.

I have air in my clutch system and have a very little clutch on a 96 saturn sl

i think you need to find an exedy replacement slave cylinder, they have bleeder nipples so you can get the air out. however if you look on eBay you will find folks who are selling complete new prebled master/hose/slave units which fit all S- saturns 91-99 for about $110.00. on a car that old it makes sense to replace the whole shootin' match, not just one end of it.

This plastic bushing also broke on my 96 SL-1. I found a replacement on eBay (search "saturn shift bushing"). Mine came from "saturnbushingman" who shipped very quickly. Fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes using his detailed instructions.

Driver's side view mirror mechanism ... cable or manual?

Unless the 1999 uses a different mirror from my '96, if it has an inside adjuster lever it's cables in the mirror. You can find aftermarket replacements for around $30 to $40 for Saturns.
