Question about 2005 Audi A4

1 Answer

Advise on Audi

I just purchased my first Audi ever (2005 A4 3.0 AWD) and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this vehicle. My questions are, is this a good choice ( i paid $19,900 and it has 55,126kms)
Are the engines reliable on these vehicles? Should i use only synthetic oil on it?
Really appreciate your time
Thank you

Yes on the oil, they are good cars but they have there share of problems with 55,000 miles you should be okay but i would advise a good warranty company, repairs are $$$$$, costly, i guess it also depends if you keep up on maint, tell you what to get an idea call the dealer and just ask for a price on replacing the timing belt on that car, good luck hope you enjoy the car,

What does it mean when the awd light comes on

It means you have the vehicle checked for codes,
diagnose the system with the fault & make the repairs

That has been the same thing you do for the last 35 years,
since computers came on vehicles

All these automotive questions are all ready in print,

Hi, I recently purchased a 2005 model Audi A3 2.0L FSI S-tronic auto with 60000km's on the clock. I test drove the vehicle and it seemed to be a great car. I drove the vehicle for 2 hours after...

Sounds like low automatic transmission fluid. Have you checked the fluid level. Have you noticed it leaving spots where it's parked?
We used to have an Audi A4 wagon and the transmission was always reliable for us. We always kept it well serviced. Audi's (like all high performance cars) need very regular service and attention to be kept going well.

I purchased a used 2005 A4. No radio code provided. Where can I get the code in case of power disruption?

an audi dealer may have the code on record but as this can be changed by the owner(or anybody else)anyone with half a brain would have written it down inside the service booklet when bought new..

The tire size for your vehicle should be located on the driver door near the door latch.

I highly recommend Purolator. The make a quality filter at a good price. Advance Auto Parts sells them and they can tell you the exact one for your Audi. Have a great New Year.

Best of my knowledge, you cannot. The airbags are always armed and ready when the car is running. Some two-seat vehicles have an override switch in case an infant seat is used (since there's no back seat), but for all other vehicles, at least two airbags have been mandated by the federal government since the mid-90s.

Check engine light

Nope, no check light is triggered by high RPM, unless you overrev and damage something. Go to AutoZone and have them do a code scan (a dealer will charge an hour's labor, but at AutoZone it's free). Post the codes as a reply here and we'll go from there.

You will be better off using a Garvin. Factory set up is not cost effective.
