You might have just blown the fuse, otherwise it could be the control module wiring has been damaged.
Check tthe wiring in the manual above.

The fuse has gone on my 2004 nissan x trail central locking system can only lock drivers door and with key only .Problem is cant locate the fuse

Your problem is the interior light switch fuse has blown!which also serves the central locking system, located in the fuse box just above the drivers footwell (10amp) (well awkward). Replcace with one of the spare fuses supplied and all should be well. If your interior lights are not working (except boot light) this is a dead giveaway. Good luck.

I have a 1997 bmw 318i. the central locking system keeps blowing the fuse. i know there is a short somewhere, but where

I will suggest to check the wire harness from truck. try to take off the rubber grommet close to trunk hinges. then inspect if there is dammage wire but if you can;t find any fault with it, i suggest to disconnect one by one the connector from each door and and obseve the fuse and if the fault still existing check the central locking module for possible water ingress resulting to blown your fuse

My central locking locks then unlocks straight away

as a mechanic, i would suggest you first make sure all your doors are closing properly, if they are you may just need to pack your central locking system with powdered graphite, you can buy it from any good parts supplier, if that doesn't fix it you would be well advised to take it to your mechanic
