Yes - that's the timing belt service. It's the most expensive of the service intervals, but it's not unique to the Sorrento. Most cars require it. It involves considerable external engine disassembly, and the installation of a new timing belt, timing tensioner, water pump, thermostat, various idler pulleys, cam and crank seals, accessory belts, all fluids, all filters, and spark plugs. In addition, there is usually a brake and suspension inspection and a tire rotation.

I took my wife's Kia Sedona in for service at a Kia dealer. He told me the timing belt need to be changed before 60,000 miles. Is this true?

Timing belts do need to be changed at mileage intervals set by the manufacurer. 60,000 miles sounds about right. Failure to change it may cause it to wear out and fail. Should that happen, you can cause serious damage to the engine up to needing a replacement. Look in your owners manual and it should give you the "service intervals".

At what mileage should the timing belt on my kia sorento 2005 be changed?

the factory calls for every 60,000 miles, do not go over this mileage, if the belt breaks the valves will hit the pistions and u have a huge and expensive repair.

Does a 2003 subaru impreza have a chain or belt timing belt? what is the maintenance schedule?

It has a belt, and it is supposed to be done at 60,000 miles. It is a job but it can be done by a patient owner. You can't rush it, you will need the book, a Haynes manual or something like that. the shop will charge about 3 to $400 for it. I think the water pump gets done and the belt tensioner, not sure. Check it out, Hope this helps.

I have just over 60000 mile on my 02 Yukon Denali and my "engine service soon" just came on. Should I take it to the gmc dealer or my nearest Union 76 gas station who has mechanics that can work on cars...

service engine soon is a driver/owner reminder, check your engine oil or rest it after changing to 100%, if you have the owners guide book, read it and follow the maintenance procedure to avoid severe damage to your car

Timing belt replacement for 2001 Kia Sephia

For California models recommended at 105,000 miles.Belt needs to be inspected at 60,000 and 90,000, miles and replace at 105,000 miles.
Except California replace at 60,000 miles. Note 1.8L engine is a interference engine, if timing belt goes bad will cause major internal engine damage.

I have a 2005 Kia Spectra.I have 67000miles on it. I was told, because of the milage I need to change the timeing Belt. Will it give me a warning?

Yes, Kia's recommended replacement is at 60,000 miles.

It's the type of thing that if you plan for it and have it done, you won't find yourself broken down and wishing you had done it.

When to change the timming belt for kia sedona 2002

The dealer recommends the timing belt be replaced at 60,000 miles if it is a rubber timing belt. Newer Sedona models have a metal chain timing belt that don't need to be replaced so soon.
