Has the child safety swith been activated? Look in your manual for child safety features. Most cars can switch the rear windows off to stop the kids climbing out.

Need to know how to fix the windows in the stereo in my 1996 Lincoln Continental.all the fuses are fine, I don't know what to do next

None of the windows work ? You say fuses are good , which fuses ? Did you pull them all out an look at them ? Did you check for power - battery voltage at the window switches ? There is a driver door module involved !
  • Power Windows Completely Inoperative
  • Supply open or shorted.
  • Ground open.
  • Window regulator control switch inoperative.
  • Circuits open or shorted.
  • Window regulator electric drive inoperative.
  • Driver door module.
  • PERFORM driver door module self test. Service DTCs. If no DTCs are retrieved, GO to Pinpoint Test C .
If you don't know electrical circuit testing suggest you take to a AES certified repair shop ! If you plan to do this anyway your going to need a wiring diagram , wiring harness layout , volt ohm meter !

Electric windows

Regulators often go bad--may be a lever issue too - don\'t change parts till u know --inspect wiring and plugs etc--a failing module might be causing it. May be a good idea to get your car scanned.

Toyota carina e electric windows off runners

You don't want to put anything back where it was

The window regulator has broken & needs to be replaced

It has to come out of the door and the window motor switched to a new regulator, which you will buy at the dealers parts counter.

Take the old one & your VIN# with you

1990 toyota four runner window will not go down but I can hear motor running

ok, you will need a flat head and phillips screwdriver, and a 10 mm socket and ratchet, climb inside and into the back, remove the panel covering the "guts" with the flat head, gently pry with it under that carpeting, it has the push clips. Remove and set aside, use the phillips and remove the next cover, don't lose any screws and set aside. gently pull the plastic windshield, you will be putting it back on, so try not to tear it. you will now see the entire motor assembly. remove the 4 bolts and get the arms to slide off the window by moving the assembly sideways until the arms come free, and remove from the door, disconnect the electrical plugs locking cables and slowly slide the window down manually. Pull the 2 door release cables towards each other and the door will swing open, with no motor assembly and the window down. change your light bulbs and repair or replace any broken parts, I suggest replacing the assembly if this is the case, since you hear the motor whining and nothing is happening

Driver window won't roll up and passenger wont roll down where are the fuses for these windows located?

the window fuses are in the fuse box
but i don't think that's the problem if a window will roll up but not down
or down but not up/////
open the driver door you will see a rubber tube going from the door to
the door jam open the rubber up ill bet you find a few broken wires
all you need to do is splice them back together

if you don't find any brakes in the fuse box the windows are setup
on breakers they might be bad Thar's always a first for every thing

hope this helps you
good luck
