The fuel pump is inside the tank on this car, so if you have a fuel leak, it could be from one of the lines, filler pipe, or vent system, possibly even the filter.

Fuel pump leak

Looks like it may be a fuel return line from the fuel manifold . It may be split or loose . Probably both . Get a new section of fuel hose and some good clips and replace it

I have a fuel smell in cab on start ups only.No fuel leaks visible and no computer codes.Gas cap is tight.brand new spark plugs

If there is fuel smell in the morning there is a possibility that there is a minute leak in the gaskets or the fuel line pipes or in the gas tank that makes the volatile fuel gas into the chamber.
It will be good to look from the tank to the fuel pump, the fuel filter and to the distribution for any gas leak which might need a tightening or a change of gasket.
Your smelling senses is the right tool to probe.

How to remove fuel pump on Neon 1998 ? can I reach from inside the vehicle ?

on a dodge neon the fuel pump is in the SIDE of the tank... NOT the top. to remove the pump follow these steps...
******* first unplug battery and remove ********
1. unbolt passenger side tank strap and lower side of tank.
2. a. if tank is plastic, CAREFULLY unscrew plastic retainer ring but do NOT remove.
b. if metal tank, unscrew metal retainer flange but do NOT remove
3. unplug electrical connector and fuel line from pump. move aside.
4. completely remove retainer BE CAREFUL not to disturb pump.
5. have drain pan or wide-shallow bucket available to collect gas. (if tank is full this will need to be able to hold 7-8 gallons)
6. gently twist and pull pump out till gas comes fourth. catch gas in pan/bucket.
7. remove pump when gas stops flowing.
8. install is reverse of removal.
9 BE CAREFUL not to wrinkle gasket or lose gasket into tank when installing or the tank will leak around pump.
10. tighten retainer but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
11. reconnect plug and fuel lines check for leaks.
12. reattach tank strap and fasten
13. refill tank with clean gas. check for leaks.
14. put battery back in. connect battery, start your neon and check for leaks one last time.
15, have fun. this will take about 4hrs to do by yourself with proper tools.

Inside the cabin strong gas smell after fill up for approx 50 miles. 2003 Honda Odyssey 85k miles.

do you have the same fuel economy as before or does you gas last less miles than before. if you can smell gas whether the car is running or NOT that means you have a leak in your fuel system if it was not a leak, you would not smell it when not running . first thing is check under vehicle after overnight parking and see if there is fuel on the ground if there is , this will give you a starting point where to look for gas leak. Plugged, dirty or poorly connected fuel injector; Leaking fuel filter or fuel filter connections; Punctured or damaged fuel tank; Loose or poorly connected fuel pump; Gas in gas can in trunk.

Leaks gas

hello! check your fuel pump, i think this car still has a mechanical fuel pump, once the diapghram in fuel pump is bad, it will release gas fumes after a few km of driving.
