The solenoids for the tranny are in the transmission,my suggestion would be take it to a tranny shop had have them replace it so that it comes with a warranty.

Wont shift to 3rd code say the transmission torque convrter solenoid needs to be replaced 2005 chevy suburban

The code probably says the solenoid is not working correctly or the signal from the solenoid is out of range.
The solenoid would need to be tested and maybe replaced.

Po756 code and blincking od light 96 ford explore

P0756 FORD - Shift Solenoid 2 Performancexicon.jpg CodePossible causes- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid 2 valve
- Shift solenoid 2 valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid 2 valve circuit is open or shorted
help.png Help with thisTech notes When the a transmission solenoid is stuck off, in most cases the problem is not the electrical part of the solenoid; the problem is foreign material obstructing the mechanical function of the solenoid or the flow of the fluid through the transmission valve body. If the transmission fluid is very dirty, it is recommend changing the transmission fluid and if possible removing the transmission pan for further diagnosis. Excessive debris or metal particles on the transmission pan could be an indication that there is a transmission mechanical failure and that the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Got a code saying it is the shift solenoid, where is it at on a 1996 chevy 1/2 ton truck

It's inside the transmission, you can access it by dropping the pan. There's two shift solenoids they look the same, in fact they are the same you may want to replace them both they are not very expensive. There's a clip that holds them in place, carefully disconnect the wire, pull the clip out with a plier or small screwdriver. The solenoid will now pull out, put a couple drops of ATF on the "O-rings" of the new solenoid push it in put the clip back in and hook the wires back up. Put in a new filter, clean the pan out, install a new gasket and put in fresh fluid. It's a messy job, good luck.

Transmission promblem

Assuming you have an automatic transmission, I would check the transmission fluid level. If low, you need to identify where the fluid is leaking. Probable locations are transmission pan, or the cooler lines to the radiator.
If this has only begun to happen your transmission will probably be ok. If it has been happening for a while then you will probably be looking for a new transmission.
There is also one other possibility. If the check engine light is on and the codes read something in the area of "transmission control solenoid" or "shift solenoid" then you will need to have those replaced.

Where is the erls fuse on my 96 chevy cavalier and does that control my 2-3 shift solenoid?

The ERLS fuse does power the solenoid, and the computer grounds it, making it work. Its located in the fuse box. which is on the left end of the dash board.

Could i be getting the 2-3 shift solenoid code if i havent changed the fluid in it or filter i got it at 96,000 miles and now it has 146,000 miles.1996 cavalier 2.4

It's very possible. Crud builds up over time due to the heat in the transmission. A fluid flush and filter change is a good idea. You may end up doing it twice - automatic transmission fluid is a great detergent and new fluid may dislodge crud inside the transmission, which will fill the new filter and clog it. Swap it out a second time and you're golden.
