depending on mileage, but possible tune-up could fix it. if already done then check ignition coil pack and ignition wires also spark plugs, check vacuum hoses for leaks or porous, last injectors clogged - use some techron fuel injector cleaner (wal-mart has them). have worked at G.M. dealership for over 15 years, saw that alot.

Has p0300 code misfire cyl 2 and 3

If it was just cylinder 2 or 3, the code would be 0302 or 0303. Instead, you have random misfires (probably) such that you should be checking things that affect the whole engine. Vacuum leaks, bad plug wires, bad coil(s) or ignition module are most likely, but even clogged exhaust, O2 sensors and bad battery can cause these problems. Yes, a battery can be good enough to start your car but still be bad enough to affect performance. If I had to guess, I would start by testing the ignition module. Most parts stores can test this if you remove it and carry it to them.

When my car is ran on computer is has cose PO300 PD. What does this indicate?

DTC P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

Hope this helps.

I have a 97 chevy tahoe 5.7 i just did a intake gasket due to the one given out truck ran fine befor i took it a part but now it runs and throws the p0300 code has a slight rough idle

P0300 random misfire, slight rough idle good , by the way your repair is good you dont want a identified misfire, Lets start by what it is not. Not a misposition sparkplug wire you would of gotten that cylinder code, as misfire, Oh try this got carburator cleaner? spray safely along the intake gasket, How about inspecting the vacuum hoses especailly at the map sensor. Here the thing you got. a vacuun leak. on a 5.7 a vacuum leak causes random misfire, by definition P0300 means 2 cylinders or more. By experience its a vacuum leak

What is code P0300 on a 2000 Chevy Malibu?

Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 OBD DTC code indicates a random or multiple misfire. Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open. If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

A P0300 code is a random cylinder misfire code and could be caused by a bad plug, plug wire, or fuel injector. The P0171 is bank one o2 sensor is reading lean w/ both of these combined could mean a vacumm leak.. Hope this helps.
