After the trans is out, its right there. I would suggest you do the complete clutch replacement, while its apart. Also replace the rear main oil seal.

What does mash down the clutch mean??? If you get a noise whenever you depress the clutch pedal it may be that the throwout bearing is gone.

Jeep wrangle squeals when clutch is pressed.

your throwout bearing is shot, and while your in there you should replace the clutch and pressure plate as the parts are relatively cheap but the process of dropping the transmission is rather involved. im not speculating it is definitely your throwout bearing

Is it possible to install a new throwout bearing fork without removing the transmission on a 1956 jeep cj5

It would be extremely difficult - REALLY difficult. Getting bearing attached to new fork and pressure required to connect to linkage, it would be literally a nightmare. Just drop driveshaft, undo trans mount, undo bell housing and slide trans back (not out) and you have access to TOB & fork.

I have a 1990 jeep wrangler, the throwout bearing in the clutch has gone out for the second time. Is there a way of using the linkage from a new model to eliminate the doughnut hydraulic throwout?

try using a bearing that is in a metal casiing and not a plastic piece of junk that comes in the clutch kit nowdays ,they always end up going wrong where bearing melts the holder ,unless you can fit a thin telecamit tube and a grease nipple so clutch bearing can be greased every few months like on a good old fashioned commercial vehicle

I have a 2004 jeep wrangler with a manual trans rattle in nutral

It's not normal, it sounds like the throwout bearing may be making the noise. It's hard to say how long it will hold up. I've seen them make noise for a while. I would check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder.

Trow out bearing

to get the throwout bearing, the trans will need to be removed, and while its out, go ahead and replace the clutch, resurface the flywheel and replace the rear main oil seal.
