I cant find the dipstick for the transmission fluid. Can you tell me where it is located? Please?

On 1992 Accord, the dipstick for the automatic transmission is on the passanger side of the exhaust manifold, below the distributor. It helps to use a flashlight to locate the dipstick as it is really low in the engine compartment. It is about the same height in the engine as the lower radiator hose's exit from the radiator is. The dipstick itself is only about 4 or 5 inches long. Here's an illustration, check #5 in this image:...

Were is the 1996 honda accord tramsmision fluid

Guessing that you are talking about an automatic transmissio but gave you the location just incase you have a manual transmission. The 4 and 6 cylinder engines have different loctions for the automatic transmissions, I hope these pictures are detailed enough so you can tell where the location is at. I hope this helps you and good luck.

I have two questions concerning my 1996 Honda Accord LX, 4-cylinder. 1) I can't find a dipstick for the transmission fluid. I've looked and looked and don't see one, and I'm told that some engines don't...

if its automatic, the dipstick should be on the top/back of the transmission on the left side of the engine bay, under the air intake. if its a 5-speed, there is no dipstick and it might be the clutch slipping. the locks might be caused by a sticky mechanism. take the door panel off and grease all of the door lock parts. good luck!

What is the best way to check the ATF of a 1992 honda accord

Drive the car around for a little bit, making sure you shift through all the gears. You can either leave the car running, or check the level on the transmission dipstick within one mintue of turning the car off. Add fluid as necessary, using DEXRON-II or better quality fluid.

If my car wont go into gear what could be the cause? When i got the 1992 honda accord lx i was having to start out in 2nd than 3rd now it wont shift and i cant go past 70 without it revving up.

Normally you should not be able to start the car without it being in 'Neutral' or 'Park'. First try changing the starter inhibitor switch on the transmission. Next check out the selector rod for the gear position, this connects between the bottom of gear selector and the input selector shaft on the transmission. Next check out you fluid level in the auto-box on the autobox fluid dipstick. If low you can add extra fluid by the dipstick tube. Ordinarily it is suggested that the fluid level is checked when the engine is running but in park.cannot start the car unless in gear I suggest you do not do this for safety reasons.

How do you change the tranmission fluid in a 2004 Honda V6 Coupe? Can you provide a step by step with a video or pictures?

there is a drain plug, take it out, let fluid drain out until it stops. put drain plug back in. find dipstick, take dipstick out, fill trans approx 3 qts. check level with engine off. use only HONDA trans fluid. If you cant do this, take it to a shop. You may need to bring your own trans fluid as most shops will not keep it in stock. should not cost much more than a engine oil change.

Number of miles since last transmission filter cleaning and transmission fluid replacement could have a strong impact.
Check the fluid level and fluid color and odor.
If level is ok, and color appears good (gold or red) and odor is NOT burnt smelling, then a clog in one of the pumps inside the transmission could be the culprit - take it to your local transmission shop.

If the fluid is any of the other issues listed above,
Drain the fluid (using a 4 dollar drill pump available at Harbor Freight) via the transmission dipstick tube. Now pour in an identical amount of new fluid (amount is not specified because you cannot get all the fluid out this way - so add only the amount that you are able to remove).

Put a few miles on it and it will be much better.

BTW - I assume that you have checked for the obvious vacuum leak - cracked vacuum hose, or disconnected hose....

Tranmission oil change

There is a drain plug on your accord for this. Run the car to reach operating temp. and remove passenger side front wheel for easier access to drain plug, which is located near the front of the wheel/tire. The drain plug is removed by inserting a 1/2 inch drive ratchet, or extension into the square recess of the drain plug, and then remove like u would a regular bolt or nut. Have a drain pan ready. Replace plug, tighten to 36 ft lbs , replace wheel, with a long thin funnel, add fluid thru dipstick opening with engine running, shift thru the gears several times to allow fluid to flow thru trans. Do not overfill, check level with car parked on level surface. To check fluid level, do NOT screw dipstick in. Let me know if u need more help/info.
