Ok here is an old school remedy. It will take some time but it will help. get a test light. disconnect the ground side of the battery terminal. Connect the test light between the negative battery terminal and the ground siide of the battery. If there is a short the test light will light up. In order to find the short or your problem, start pull and a reinstall a fuse at a time until the light goes out. If you pull a fuse and the light goes out, you have found the culprit. find out what that fuse is for and we can continue from there. Please rate this information.

Have the alternator checked real good lad test and amps, and of course volt output,if the internal regulator sticks,it will drain, but ,it may be intermerent.Make sure the battery gets about a 12 hour charge,at 2amps,this will ensure the deep charge of the battery will hold up.

05 Cadillac SRX battery draining down after a couple days of sitting.

Dealer should have been able to figure this one out!

Best bet to trouble shoot is next time it is going to sit for a couple of days disconnect the battery. After the couple of days pass hook up the battery and if it's dead then the battery isn't holding a charge, if not then something in the vehicle is draining the battery.

If you live in a colder climate weak batteries tend to be more of a problem as temps get colder.

If the battery is more then 3 years old it is a prime suspect.

Hope this helps!

Battery Drain on 2004 Chevy Impala

What could be draing the battery? A lot of different sources on your vehicle can cause a parasitic drain on the battery . Your vehicle has at least 10 different electronic control modules (computers ) on board . Any one of these not powering down could cause your problem . Plus there are other things too . Testing would need to be done to find the problem .Takes knowledge of electrical circuits an systems to diagnose these type problems .

Needs a jump every day

It sounds like the battery has a dead cell in it. Replace the battery. If you have an alarm installed remove the in line fuse from the alarm and see if that stops the battery drain.

Battery keeps draining while car sits. Constantly having to recharge. Replaced battery twice in last year. NEED HELP !

Check to see if it's the light under the hood that stay's on when you close the hood. remove the light bulb and see if it still drains. The other places would be the light over the visor and light in the glove box. Other things would be a bad relay like the A/C relay to the compressor being stuck in the on position and A/C clutch engaged all the time. Start with the light's it may take a few days but better then going to the dealer and paying them to do the same thing for a few days and charging you for the service. Keep me posted, be glad to help out.
