I am unfamilliar with the problems these cars have as they are rather new. but i would bet anything is still covered under the manufacturer waranty.

generally tho mis firing is caused my a few things, an incorrectly gapped sparkplug, timing could be off, lose plug wires or a broken distributor/cap.

check those and call the dealer to find out if it's still coverd

Why is there cylinder 2 misfire?

It may just be a coil breaking down or a bad spark plug. Try swapping one of the coils over with the faulty one and see if the misfire happens on that cylinder and cylinder 2 runs fine. If it does then swap the faulty one for a new coil. Don't know about your car but most now have individual coils for each cylinder that fit directly onto each spark plug.

Replaced 1.8 liter engine in a 2006 Civic after it overheated bad. Had to replace two ignition coils and it will idle smooth until it gets warm then starts missing.Loses power and check engine light starts...

misfires are from coils , plugs , HT leads , and injectors and fuel pressure . If the head got that hot then it is possible that the injectors have an internal problem that shows when they get hot and the electronics breaks down.

Engine shut down due catalyst prblem

is your mechanic brain dead, he/she is not ASE certified, or it be fixed now.
Cats, (never dogs)
do break up (ceramic type) just for funs and giggles,
just vibration or bumps or hitting any OBJECT on the road can do that.
on my 88 jeep the rear exh mount broke and it shock the cat to DEATH. just a 99cent clamp , bam.
point to
if you drive any car with the CEL flashing that means
the CAT is melting ,diD YOU? its in the operators guide. and what to do , it says stop car, and let it cool and to go slow to nearest sevice,
mine says ,drop off the trailer too. (trucks)

if the engine was running in limphome with huge exhaust heat and air and fuel the cat is doomed, all cars can to that ACT.
next time (if true) stop avoiding the CEL. , scan it and find the errors.
so my guess, is the cat burned up and slagged on you.
the ECU EFI is running rich, and most likely MISFIRING like HELL.
all misfirings when ignored, kills the CAT.
i guess you mech, never seen and engine MISFIRE?
if not , fire him , no, run fast to the nearest ASE shop.
really.

Limp mode removal

Have the fault codes read. Replace faulty items. Use only
genuine items as replacement as non-genuine are not always compatible with the OEM fitted CPU units. This results in the fault codes not cancelling out.

I have a 2006 mercedes c230 sport. It is misfiring on cylinders 4 5 and 6 could it be an oxygen sensor? if so up stream or down

If the c230 has a misfire it may be a bad ecu or M.E. control unit. There is a company that can test it in Michigan.

Servicing of motorcar

Take a look at the following. I believe it covers maintenance. Don't think they show a manual for a 2006, but I imagine the 2007 is pretty close. You can print the pages that are most important.

Engine misfiring

I always replace plugs with same brand and number as came out whenever possible, just for that reason. I've seen too many engines run bad after changing from manufacturers recommended plugs.
