Question about 2001 Toyota Corolla
I've been noticing over the last month or so that my 2001 Corolla stalls when starting in the colder mornings but it'd be fine. Now that it's colder this week it got a little more problematic and my check engine light came on this morning on the way to work. It just hit 145,000 mi and about 2 years ago when it hit 100,000 I replaced the catalytic converter so I'm pretty sure that's not the trouble, seems typical that every time it hits a certain mileage point something needs changing. Have read a few other questions regarding this and it seems the typical problem is the MAF sensor, I have a good mechanic and was wondering about how much this would cost me? And also am wondering if I can wait a day or so to have it looked at?
Waiting a day or so won't be a problem..it just to be what you're willing to put up with...and for cost? it should only be one hour labour to get it diagnosed...at least that much..if you choose to do the repair, then you're looking parts plus labour..depending on what it is...it sure sounds like it it fuel related....like pump...if pump is diagnosed faulty, then please change the strainer with it (if it has one) and for sure the filter at the same time..always.
