Question about 2001 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

I have two problems with my 2001 Toyota corolla. The dash lights only work on half of the dash and my engine light is on and I had it diagnosed and it is the catalytic converter, is that needed?

May not be any fuse and if it was other things would not work either. It is most likely the sitch that controls the running and dash board lights.

Malfunction Indicater Light on Dashboard is constantly on

Hi,
The MIL light always on indicates the computer has self diagnosed a problem with the engine management system.
A parts store as Auto Zone will hook up a "scanner" to retrieve the information from the computer.
The cause of the MIL light going on can then be located and repaired.

With the engine off turn the key to on. Then turn the key just past on, but before the starter starts. This should turn all the dash indicator lights on.

2001 Toyota Corolla high beam lights are not

Your switch must be working since your indicator is telling you when the high beams are on, so my guess is that your bulbs are faulty. The high beam part. They probably burnt out one at a time, so you didn't notice until the second one went. Change your bulbs, and see if that solves it. If not, let me know.
