Hello Charles: My name is Roger and I Will help. The PCM is located behind the glove box on top of the heater case. The VCM is located under the hood just above the ABS unit. The Engine Control Computer is located Front seating area, passenger side, under dash, mounted above kick panel.

1997 GMC Truck K3500 1 ton P/U 4WD 7.4L SFI 8cyl
The Engine Control Computer is located under hood, driver side, front side of shock tower, mounted on upper fenderwell.

1997 GMC Truck K3500 1 ton P/U 4WD 5.7L SFI 8cyl
The Engine Control Computer is locatedu under hood, driver side, front side of shock tower, mounted on upper fenderwell.

It should be underneath the exhaust manifold on the side of the block on the passenger side. It looks like this:

I need to know how to install a fuel pressure regulator on a 98 GMC K3500 4x4


The fuel pressure regulator is located under the upper intake manifold or plenum. This large aluminum casting must be removed for access.I assume this is a 454 c.i.d.old body style pick up. 2000 was a split year for GM. Both old and new body styles.

Where are both thermostats located on a 1998 gmc k3500 6.5 diesel , im trying to replace them


Follow the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing at the front of the engine. Its just above the fuel injector pump.

You don't need to take either the turbo or the fuellines of to replace the glowplugs. I do not believe you.
