Question about 1992 Honda Accord
The “D” flashes and the car will not start. There is an ignition switch to put the key in near the shifter. If you put the key in the ignition and hold it sometimes the car will start, but not always.
The D4 flashing is telling you that the computer believes something is wrong with your transmission.
The key switch next to your shifter allows you to shift to another gear when the engine is not running.
Since the ignition key is not starting the car (normally) you could try inserting your key in the shifter key port and turning it and moving the shift lever back and forth several times. The problem might be a sensor on your shift mechanism or transmission that is preventing the ignition switch from working, but I wouldn't hope for that being a solution to the problem.
Best you take the car to Honda or a trusted mechanic for help.
