Question about 1995 Nissan Maxima

1 Answer

I have a 200 Hyundai Elantra and the check engine light is one. I was also told when I got my oil changed that I had a hole in my exhaust...could this be why my car is stalling out?

With that being said do you feel the exhaust hole could be causing my car to stall out? I heard a bad oxygen sensor could be the cause of the stalling out as well.

Hi:
A hole in your exhaust should be fixed soon, as depending where it is, can cause the exhaust to enter the car, and that isn't safe. You should get the check engine light scanned for free at a local auto parts store to see what code is tripped. It might be something simple, but often a vacuum leak or bad sensor can cause alot of drivability issuse.

PO-139 I had that sensor change 3 weeks ago and the check engine light came on again this morning. Thanks

Probably replaced a good sensor. This codes could be from a bad sensor, a vacuum leak, or an exhaust leak before the sensor.

Yes this is related to the exhaust but you will need to have it fixed.

Also I will give you a procedure on turning the check engine light off.

You might try removing the battery connectors for five minutes and replacing back.

If the codes do not disappear, please you might have to get a scanner to do that.

Cheers.

Check engine light is on in my 2005 Elantra newly maintenanced

Check your engine oil and break oil weather it is in below low level or full, if it has in low level get an engine oil for your car module and pour it. otherwise go to authorized Hyundai service centre and check for it.

I have a Hyundai Elantra 2004 sedan. 75,000

Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

Engine light is blinking and it runs very rough/low power in gear.

Check the coil pack. Same symptoms on mine. It went at 74,000.
You can get the resistance specs from a shop manual. I have been told the plastic engine cover traps heat and makes short life of the coil pack. I removed the top engin cover, cosmetic only after replacing mine. You will probably need spark plugs also they are probably fowled by now. If you have not changed spark plug wires in awhile in would not hurt.
