Question about 1992 Buick LeSabre

I have a coolant leak between the engine and the firewall. The drip shows up on the driver's side between the oil and transmission pan. The heater sometimes blows cold also. What could it be?

Its probabbly a hose going inside the heating unit, check those hoses...see if they are too hard or broken even, they should be soft and have no cracks or holes, if u see a hose like that replace it...dont waste ur time trying to fix them or patch them
hope this helps

Check any coolant hoses above the place where you see the drip, check head to block parting line for seepage (potential head gasket problem) If all is good, you may have a freeze plug leaking. You need to get an eye on the leak source before you can fix it. Use a mirror and a flashlight if you don't have a good view.
What you need to do to make the repair will depend upon what you find.

Heater blowing cold shows that the coolant level has dropped below the point where it can flow into the heater core...likely because of your leak.

Our 2004 Isuzu Rodeo has developed a coolant leak. The leak appears to be around or above a little panel or plate immediately behind the oil pan? Cannot find any other source. What is inside the littl

You will have to clarify behind the oil pan. Front of engine towards fan. Rear of engine transmission side. Or above the pan towards engine side. If there is coolant leaking from behind the engine (between the engine and trans) and is not running down from above eg head gasket or hose connection, chances are good that there is a frost plug leaking on the rear of the block.

Leaking transmission fluid

TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKS,CAN BE FOUND AROUND PAN GASKET.CHECK PAN GASKET,IF IT LOOKS WET AND YOU SEE FLUID DRIPPING AROUND THE EDGE OF OIL PAN, REPLACE PAN GASKET, WHILE YOU REPLACING PAN GASKET REPLACE TRANSMISSION FILTER WHILE OIL PAN OFF.IF TRANSMISSION OIL PAN NOT LEAKING, CHECK TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES GOING INTO RADIATOR YOU WILL LOOSE A LOT OF FLUID THERE ALSO TORQUE SHAFT SEAL WILL CAUSE HEAVY FLUID LEAK WHILE ENGINE RUNNING CHECK OIL COOLER LINES AND LOOK AT THE TORQUE AREA WHILE ENGINE RUNNING YOU WILL SEE FLUID POURING WHILE ENGINE RUNNING THE OIL PUMP PRESSURE WILL PUSH FLUID OUT AT THE LEAKING AREAS.

Water leak drips on leftside but is not from water pump. seems to come from back side and runs tword the front, shows wet down low and in back close to firewall.

There is a metal pipe on the back head that has coolant in it going to the heater core. Also there are also small rubber hoses (2) on the driver side toward the rear of the engine. Run your hand under the above listed items to see if you can feel coolant. If the above don't show any leak then it could be a head gasket leaking to the outside of the engine. Good Luck

Coolant leak cant find it . it only leaks when heats up and it has a heavy drip coming out where the transmission meets the oil pan undernearth

That would be your heater box overflow making that drip on the transmission, which indicates that you have a leak in your heater core. Try disconnecting the hoses to your firewall which connect to your heater core and either blocking them or joining them together to see if the leak stops. If it does, you can leave them that way until you can get to your heater core and replace it.

Coolant Leak

It' s a guess. First I would for any engine frost plug leaking. If equipped with a block heater check it for leak (depending where it has been installed).
If I'm wrong let us know and we will go further.
Hope it will help
