2002 Honda CRV. radio CD - CODE

I own a 2002 Honda CRV. I bought it used and no owners manual was provided with the purchase. I lost power to the car's system and the radio set itself in an anti-theft mode requiring a code to get the radio to function again. I tried pushing several buttons and now only get an ''error'' message. How do I reset this radio? It is frustrating .

Please help

If an audio unit with theft protection is disconnected from electrical power, you must enter a unique code number into the unit or it will not work. This code and the audio unit’s serial number are listed on the anti-theft ID card that comes with the vehicle. If this card is lost, you must obtain the audio unit serial number in order to get the radio code (some people say that they have found the code on a sticker inside the glove compartment, but I wouldn’t count on that). Some newer vehicles allow you to retrieve the audio unit serial number electronically from the radio. Refer to your owner’s manual for the specific procedure (the following usually will work: Turn the radio off. Push the preset 1, preset 6, and power buttons at the same time, then quickly release.)
. Some older vehicles (model year 2003 and older) require a visit to the dealer in order to retrieve the audio unit serial number. Once you have the audio unit serial number, you can call Auto Customer Service at (800) 999-1009 or have the dealer look up the radio code.
Hope this information will help you get started on the process.

Honda Radio Security Code for Free

Honda provide a direct support service to customers who have lost the security code to their radio owing to the power being lost through a flat battery or having been disconnected for maintenance etc...<br /><br /><b>The site is maintained directly by Honda and gives you your genuine factory code for your radio - all for free! </b><br /><br />Honda is one of very few manufacturers to provide a service such as this and most people are not aware of this.<br /><br />You will need to provide some details - the VIN of your car and the serial number of the radio. This can be obtained on most Honda vehicles without taking the radio out of the dash and can be made to show on the display of the radio - full instructions are at the link. <br /><br />You must also provide the ZIP code and telephone number you used when you purchased your vehicle. This is to confirm that you are the genuine owner of the radio. My Honda, CRV 2006 stalled, I was back in business after getting a boost but now radio/CD is not working. Please help.

If your battery was completely dead the car has to be reset. Look in your owners manual and see if there is something about resetting certain functions if you have a dead battery. You might need the code for the radio/CD player to get it working again. A dealer can provide you with it, but you will need positive ID that you are the owner of the car.

Hi radio codes are usually noted at the front of the owners manual or service booklet if the selling dealer was doing its job properly(sometimes a default code of "0000" is used Cheers Tom

What is the radio code for the 2002 Honda CRV. We just replaced a dead battery and now the radio does not work. Very Frustrating!

Three ways to get the code.
1.check the glove for the code, there might be a white sticker with the code on it.
2.with car on and radio off. hold down 1 and 6 on radio and turn radio on while holding down 1 and 6 down. If you're luck, the radio will show you the audio SN#. The first half of the SN# will be display first and the second half will be display next.
3.you will have to remove the radio. The SN# printed on a sticker on the radio.

call your honda dealer and give them the SN# and they will give you your audio code.
good luck

Just changed the battery for the first time in 2004 crv LX model. Everything fine, but radio/cd etc just has the word COde across the display and nothing will work...??? what is the code and/or how do I...

Whenever you disconnect a car battery, the radio needs to have the Security code installed. It is for theft protection. It is the code you programed into it when you bought the car. If you bought the car new, the code is usually a series of zero's, usually 3 or 4. If you bought the car used, you may have to contact the previous owner, & ask what they used as a radio code, or if they recoded it. If that is not possible, you'll have to take it to a dealer, to have the radio reprogrammed. If you have an owners manual, it will be described in there also, on how to do it all.

Error 7 on 2005 Honda CRV Radio

I had the same issue with the radio code error lock on a 2005 CRV. I was unaware of the code procedure and had locked the radio in the "ERROR E" mode. I was able to unlock the radio by pulling the #9 back up fuse located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. This reset the radio to CODE which then allowed me to input the 5 digit number which I had in my glove box along with my owner's manual. I am happy to report I now have a working radio/ CD player.

I don't have radio code to honda crv 2002

The radio code is unique to each radio, the code came in the owner packet of the car when new, you will have to call the dealer and see if they can provide the code with your cars VIN

Cd player not working

If it were locked it would ask for a code on the radio display, more likely the radio's CD changer is defective, they are very prone to failure.
