Question about 2004 Mitsubishi Diamante
I purchased this wreck minus wheels, seats, stereo, dereg & ignition switch (smashed). A srewdriver seems to work fine in what is left of ignition & other wiring seems intact. With screwdriver I get acc (dashlights etc) then motor turns over & over but does not fire. Do these cars have anti theft devices that obviously didnt work before but work now or wot. I,ve been over the obvious & am a little confused so any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Yep, the keys will have what is known as a transponder inside, this transponder sends a signal to a transponder reciever in the column. When the signal matches it allows the car to start.
The system is intergrated into the ECU and cannot be removed, you need the original key to start the car.
