Why does my 1998 sebring idle fine but sputter badly under load.

Does it use spark plug wires or individual ignition coils for the each plug?. My 98 intrepid uses coils and occasionally I have to change them out cause it would start to miss when normal temperature was achieved. If it uses wires, try replacing them, along with the spark plugs.

your problem is not wire location, it sounds like bad wire or wires, also those engine are pron to bad coils, but i think you should start with wires, also check fuel filter or just replace if you can check fuel preasure.hope this helps.

Having problem when i try to accelerate engine starts to miss

First, if you increase the rpm's while the vehicle is idling, do they come up normally or does it miss then too? I would check to see not only if you have spark but what the spark intensity is. (under load, a weak spark can actually be extinguished) firing through the exhaust means that either you have a burned exhaust valve , badmoz-screenshot.png exhaust lobe on the cam or that the ignition timing is so far off that it is firing when the exhaust valves are open.If you have a 4.0 engine, it is possible that the outer ring on the crank pulley has turned and what you think is correct timing may be not even close.

check ignition system , sounds like a ignition miss fire p 0300 normaly is a coil or lead fault or bad spray patterns on the injectors can also cause a miss fire when the engine is cold .
