Question about 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

1 Answer

Im havin a brake problem with my truck and was wonderin if yall can give some guidance. The truck started out with a squeak in the brakes and I thought they just needed to be clean cause I just put new pads in. Now that squeak has changed pitch and sometimes sounds like a rubbin sound. I also lose breaking power when I turn it to the right. It becomes harder to brake and there is play in the pedal. Thanks for any help.

It seems the brake pads were incorrectly installed. or they tried to take advantage og you by installing only "some" of the pads. Take it back to them and inform them of your problem. there are cheaters out there as well as honest mechanics.

Is there grease nipples around wheels of caravan

Is it a brake squeak? Some vehicles have a little metal tab on the brakes that starts squeaking when they get close to needing to be replaced. When you push the brake, the sound may go away due to the pressure being applied. Check your front brake pads.

I had my front brakes and rotors replaced about 150 miles ago ...now I notice a squeeking when Im braking ..The abs light goes on and off and when it goes on I feel a little pressure on the brake peddle...

You have an issue with your abs. It could be a wheel sensor failure. The squeaking sounds like a different problem. Some brake pads are metallic and will do this, or something is incorrect during the installation.

Just had harmonic balancer put on and new belts he fogot the loctite glue so now has to undo bolt and put that on dur! but i am hearing a squeak in the wheel right hand drivers side AU car of my 1997 626...

it sounds like your brakes need to be replaced. the squeaking is actually a brake pad indicator rubbing on the rotors letting you know that the pads are low an need to be changed soon. if you let this go on for too long you may damage the rotors and spend a lot more money than just a simple brake job.

Im getting belt squeak its not harmonic

The belts may need to be adjusted. Make sure the squeak is not from your brake pads. You may need to have new brake pads. You also, may have gotten water in your engine from a poor quality gasoline or from rainy weather. Make sure also, you have fluid in the small tank which is the brake fluid.

Ok, As for the Squeeking--Have you Checked the Brake Pads on this side? It will either Be the Brake Pads or The Wheel Bearings. The Cold Start up can be Cured by Getting a Can of B12 Chemtool from Wal-Mart Automotive and Running 1 Can of it into a Full tank of Gas. It has Always worked for me in the Past.
